About ACVA
The American College of Vedic Astrology, located in Sedona, Arizona, is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to teaching the art and science of Vedic Astrology or Jyotish. ACVA's purpose is to provide the highest quality of education and training in Vedic Astrology to students and professional astrologers worldwide; emphasizing ethics and professionalism in the mastery of the principles and practice of Vedic Astrology. The primary objective of the American College of Vedic Astrology is to advance the study of Vedic Sciences by providing a certification program which utilizes symposia, research and online education.
On August 14, 2000 ACVA received confirmation from the Internal Revenue Service that the American College of Vedic Astrology was granted (c) (3) non-profit educational status. This allows the college to receive charitable gifts, grants and endowments for resource development. Our vision is to create an educational campus with classrooms, library and a research center to promote Jyotish and the allied Vedic Sciences.
ACVA is affiliated with the Indian College of Astrological Sciences (ICAS), founded by the late Dr. B.V. Raman, and works with Vedic Astrologers throughout the world. The College has a governing board whose members include: Dennis Flaherty, Dr. David Frawley, Dennis M. Harness, Ph.D., Edith Hathaway, Jack Hauck, MBA, Lex Hawkins, J.D. Christina Collins, William R. Levacy, M.A., Chris Uihlein, Chakrapani Ullal.
