ACVA Certification Requirements


Level I Certification  |  Level II Certification

2008 Examination Dates and Locations:

Students Need to Complete 600 Credit Hours
Hours for Level II can start being accrued after completion of ACVA Level I Certification

Hours:

I. 600 credit hours

1. ACVA Level II Online program provides 600 credit hours to the meet Level II Certification requirements. The online program will include completion of case studies or a research thesis.

II. 400 credit hours

1. Private tutorials with approved tutors (1 hour of individual tutoring equals 10 credit hours and homework would be given)

2. Classes with approved tutors, including attendance of ACVA symposiums, conferences, and workshops (1 hour of class = 1 credit hour)

3. Audio Tapes
Maximum of 200 credit hours listening to audio tapes from previous Conferences (One hour of tape = one credit hour)

III. 200 credit hours (required for 200 hours)
Ten case studies or 10,000 word research thesis

1. Case Studies
Ten sessions with authentic clients, a more thorough interpretation that the Level I case studies 4 to 5 pages of chart interpretation plus the chart send chart interpretations to your tutor as well as sending copies to the ACVA office

Five of your 10 client sessions need to be tape-recorded and are sent to your tutor.

Tutors are paid for their time to review your tapes. Tutors give feedback to help prepare you for the Level II Test.

2. Research Thesis
10,000 word research thesis that must be approved by your tutor and ACVA Office

Oral defense of your thesis after successfully passing the Level II written exam

Level II Examination
Cost for Level II Examination is $295.00. This fee must be paid one full month prior to taking the examination.

All documents must be received by the ACVA office one month prior to the examination.

ACVA Examinations are given at ACVA Approved Conferences

Three hour written examination plus you are assigned a client to do a live consultation with. You will be given one hour to prepare when you are given the chart. Then you will give a 45 minute session with the client, with teachers / tutors observing. Fifteen minute critique will be given by tutors after completion of the session.

If doing a thesis; Three hour written examination you will give an oral defense of your thesis in lieu of a live consultation.

Upon passing, student will be granted a Level II Certificate in Jyotish from The American College of Vedic Astrology
